16-bit DMX
Hi. I'm impressed with Millumin so far. Its ability to playback large files and map them to complex outputs is great. While looking at the remote control side of things this week, OSC is working well for interaction to Millumin.
The latest test is using ArtNet or sACN, specifically 16-bit values a input into Millumin. Definitely not an expert, but two 8-bit channels can be combined to offer 16-bit (0-65,535) control data, something I remember from my days working with MIDI. 16-bit ArtNet / sACN is working with other media servers, but not for me in Millumin. There do not seem to be much in the way of settings for these DMX protocols. 8-bit( 0-255) works perfectly, and it does appear that grouped channels do appear as expected when looking at the logs in Millumin, but they are not recognized as 16-bit pairs.
I'm hoping I've missed a setting, but after doing extensive web searches and looking through the documentation there does not seem to be any specific advice for this. Running 5.13.e on an M4 Pro, Macos 15.7.1. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @coast3r,
First of all, you need to use a fixture that uses 16-bit values (using 2 DMX channel for a single property I mean).
Also, if you use a DMX-layer to do LED mapping, Millumin has to be running in 10-bit depth mode, so colors are rendered with enough steps.

The current use case for this is to allow hardware devices to remotely control parameters in Millumin. This is on the input side rather than output. It might be possible to do the required math to combine two channels with a script.
Hello @coast3r,
Ok, I see : Millumin does not decode Artnet input as 16-bit channels. Indeed, you could do it with a script.
Feel free to create an idea on Uservoice, so we could keep track of your request and see if other users are interested.
