DMX Control - Fixture Settings Not Mapped Correctly

@Millumin

Hello,

I am testing Millumin’s ability to control DMX fixtures via this tutorial…

[LIVE #05] Focus on Stage Lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F6OR3nBlDM

Some functionality is working, but many controls do not function correctly.

Millumin lists the fixture name correctly, but once chosen and connected, many of the controls don’t seem to match with the fixture. For instance, pan and tilt will work correctly, but the colors and shutter controls are all out of whack.

I’ve switched the fixture modes in Millumin and on the fixture's settings (21, 19, 15, etc), but the settings in Millumin never seems to align exactly right. Same result with a second fixture. I can kind of control both, but lots of settings are wonky or don't do anything.

I also tried downloading the millumin version fixture from here, but the results were similar…

Thoughts on how to troubleshoot? I see it’s possible to edit the .json files and DMX values in the fixture file, but I would rather avoid that or look for expert help. Thank you!

Gear list…

- Enttec DMX USB Pro

- 5 pin DMX cable

- (2) Chauvet Professional Rogue R1 Wash

- Millumin version 4.16.g

  • Hello @cmiav,

    This looks like the fixture is not right : could you check the fixture on OLF website here, and see if there is not an error with the definition (check only the mode your configured you are working with) ?

    Also : use Millumin's Monitor/DMX to test each channel of your light, and see how it behaves (you can open the Monitor from "windows" menubar).

    Lastly : test with another light, even a very simple one such as LED Par.

    Best. Philippe
