Questions about Sections

Hi,

I'm a bit torn about the new Sections concept.

In my use case (theatre), it seems just perfect: scene 1, scene 2, etc.

Unfortunately, I rely heavily on color by column. I use color codes for stage managers to indicate which columns to launch, which not to launch, camera cues, autogo, etc.

I understand that it’s not possible to combine the two systems. Is this a temporary limitation, or will it never be possible?

Secondly, once you add a section, everything after it stays in sections until the end of the dashboard. You can remove a section, but you can’t simply end the section mode?

Third, there seems to be a bug: when you hit the spacebar multiple times inside sections, the active column drifts to the right until it’s no longer visible.

    Having too many colors can be a problem for readability. We did our best to design the sections, groups and individual column colors, ... so it stays usable. For this reason, we choosed not to make the user able to change the color of individual column inside a section : indeed, columns in a section use the color of the section. This makes the interface quite tidy.

    In next beta version (5.15.d), we might allow the user to choose individual color for any column in a section, only if the color of the section is "transparent".

    Yes, indeed. We want the sections to be easy to understand and to use, thus we made its behavior as simple as possible.

    I was not able to reproduce this problem. Could you tell us more about the scenario ? Or share a video ? Thank you.

    If possible, please report us bugs via email, so we could open a ticket properly : exchange files, ask for private info, request a TeamViewer session, ...

    Thanks for your answers, Philippe.

    I’d like to add that the main benefit I see in using sections is the ability to collapse or expand an entire scene, rather than for readability (just my personal opinion).
