Segmenting a video with multiple canvases

I'm using 3 screens for this project. The middle screen will display a video, and the 2 side screens will display logos and other content.

I'm trying to segment the video so certain sections get converted into columns on the dashboard. My goal is to transition to different logos/gfx on the side screens as each new section begins. Ideally each cue/segment would auto-follow the next one, which would automatically change the logos on the outside screens.

There's no problem bringing the timeline into the dashboard, and I can see that if I extend the timeline it reveals each section as its own cue. The issue I can't fix is that the video doesn't play seamlessly as it moves from one cue to the next. I've tried every variation of segment settings on the timeline, and I've tried changing the timeline settings inside the dashboard. I've tried different transitions between columns to smooth it out, but it doesn't work.

The only solution I've found is to set the custom segment setting to "whole timeline" and manually trigger the next cue to bring in the next set of logos. But this defeats the purpose of using segments in the first place.
