Tahoe + Companion

edited November 17 in MAIN

I'm running Millumin 4 on two macs with Companion on a wired network. I've been through every possible combo of port settings, checked network etc. there is zero response from Millumin on either machines.

Also HDMI ouputs get confused when toggling fullscreen. Tahoe seems to be a disaster.

  • Hello @krasdale,

Did you allow Millumin to access the local network (see this article) ?

About "HDMI ouputs get confused when toggling fullscreen" : sorry, I do not understand. COuld you explain us ? Are you talking about the quick zoom-in animation when a window is open on macOS Tahoe ?

  • Hi Phillipe -

I'm on another job with the same rig but this time with Millumin 4, not 5. We are fairly convinced Tahoe is the issue. Local network is enabled for both machines. Companion sees them, but no commands working.

As for the HDMI issue we were having with M5, every time you toggle out of fullscreen mode, the outputs assigned to HDMI (going to E2) would have to be reset.

  • Hello @krasdale,

About Companion. Millumin V4 and V5 are working fine with Companion 4 so far (both sending commands and receiving feedback). Could you send us a TeamViewer session (or equivalent) via email, so we could check this out ?

About HDMI issue : Millumin does not manage the connection, this is done by macOS. Indeed, Millumin only display a fullscreen window on the extended desktop. In other words, Millumin cannot affect how HDMI is connected to your computer.

  • @krasdale Your E2 operator needs to set custom 'display name' for each input; MacOS would then detect the names via EDID, and remember the assignments.

Companion connection: try changing the OSC port number in Millumin settings, to something other than 5000; '5003' for example. Make sure you replicate this in the Companion connection settings also.

    Thanks ectoplasmosis -

Good to know about the E2/EDID name.

As for Companion no joy with port number change
