EpocCam input source
I am on a small production show and one scene is a Facetime video. I need to project the actress live filming herself on stage (wireless) while the Facetime media is playing. I thought I could manage this effect with the automatic connexion of the Iphone but it only allows me to stream the back camera, and we need the front one.
To solve this issue I downloaded EpocCam to have my Iphone source via NDI in Millumin. Millumin did recognize the EpocCam input and the Iphone is successfully connected to EpocCam Camera Hub, however the Epoccam input is offline (red cross) in Millumin.
Does someone know how to solve this connexion problem ?
Thanks in advance for your answers, this forum has already helped a lot and this is my first post since I am stuck on this issue (that I thought easy...).

Hello @Axl,
Are you sure this is the NDI feed coming from your camera ? If this is NDI, you should not need EpocCam Camera Hub (NDI is already a network protocol).
To test this, open Quicktime and check if your EpocCam input is seen as a webcam input.
Lastly, why using EpocCam while there is NDI Hx Camera application that is designed for NDI workflows ?

Thanks Philippe for your answer. You're right, the feed in EpocCam is not NDI (not available in Quicktime) but only wifi. There's no option on the phone or on the Camera Hub software and I've read in a forum that the NDI option is no longer available (at least in the free version).
I have seen the NDI Hx Camera option but to be honest I was going for the cheaper option. I wanted to try for free in case the director changed her mind and since we are on a very tight budget. NDI Hx Camera indeed works perfectly in the free version but I need a subscription to use the front camera.
I guess I'll just have to negociate a few euros with production to put into this.
Hello again, I'm getting back here for follow up and incase a newbie like me is looking for this info in the future.
I did purchase the NDI Hx camera app. It does easily connect to Millumin and the camera feed is on display. But the feed is automatically disconnected when I lock the Iphone. When I unlock it and send the NDI feed again, the NDI icon in Millumin's inputs is back up bit the picture is nowhere to be found. It seems like the NDI is connected but as soon as it disconnects once, the feed is no longer visible (even when connected).
To resolve this issue the only solution I found is rebooting the NDI Hx Cam app (from scratch that is closing it via the Iphone swap and opening again) and sending the feed again.
Hope this helps !
Hello @Axl,
Thank you for the info.
If the application is paused (back to home screen or locking the phone for example), yes, the NDI feed is stopped. However, as soon as the application gets back the focus, it works fine. Tested on an iPhone 12 under iOS 18.
