Black Magic Design, new CVPixelBuffer capeable drivers
BlackMagic design has released a new driver for apple silicone which supports CVPixelBuffer.
This means applications can leverage the computer’s unified memory architecture and eliminate the need for data to be copied between your capture and playback device and the computer.
This gives you increased performance, reduced latency and lower CPU usage.
I hope this will could be integrated into millumin in the future.

Hello @vjkatza,
Thank you for the info. In fact, we are already discussing about this with Blackmagic engineers.
For info, the pipeline of Millumin is already very optimized, but this improvement could make us avoid a copy of data, so improving a bit the performances. Stay tuned !
Best. Philippe
PS : I do not think this will reduce the latency really
Great!
Thank you Philippe!
This would be very useful for use with the new Decklink 8K Pro G2, capturing/outputting 4320p60 via HDMI2.1 on Mac Pro, reducing memory bandwidth overhead. Looking forward to the implementation in Millumin!
