Ghost images when using Video Routing

I have a weird behavior to report.

I have this video routing set up on two Datapath FX4

This works nicely except when I place stuff that does not will out the whole canvas. eg like this:

The resulting output is like this:

There the content is duplicated some other place on the other Datapath output while being scaled down.

I am quite puzzled about this.

The easy fix is to have a black background then the repetition does not happen:

I noticed this using NDI and at first I thought it had to do with it being NDI, but it happens to everything that does not fill out the whole screen or it it fills out the whole canvas, but has transparency set to something lower than 100%.

  • Hello @sunep,

Could you post your project ?

We will study it. Thank you.

  • I will be back on Monday, then I can send it to you.

I assume you don't need all the media, just the project file.

  • This project exhibit the behavior described above.

  • Hello @sunep,

I think this is normal : you are outputting both from the canvas and from your video-routings. Thus, you have multiple images that are stacked.

If you are using video-routings, you do not need to set outputs for your canvas : just set a 1x1 layout and the final resolution of your content. Then, the video-routings will decide how this content is projected.

    More info in this article.

    Best. Philippe
