Finally, I don't think the Mac Mini will do a better job. But you can send me your project (MILLU file only) at contact@millumin.com , so I could dig your problem.

Maybe the Mac Mini (late 2012) will do a better job?

I've recently got the BM Mini Recorder and it is working, though only in 1080p24 and with more latency than through the BM-media express.

PaulG confirmed me that the H.264 Pro Recorder works great with my mini-application.

In the meantime, I wrote 2 mini-applications to capture input or output video. It's working pretty well, and have better performances than OSX components.
