  • Thanks for this. It would be nice to have this baked into Millumin. As we should all really have a backup running on shows. Even if it was just keeping the cues in sync via an on/off toggle.  In a dream world there would be a sync files command simi…
  • TBH this is why you use a Datapath to make this setup work - all outputs are absolutely sync'd as the computer is sending out a single output and the processor does the slicing.I don't think you'll ever get this working reliably and would need to lo…
  • Sounds like you need an active mDP->HDMI adaptor. This is all good to know as our one is on its way. Also just ordered one of these https://www.aja.com/en/products/mini-converters/ha5-4k as it takes a 4KP60 and cuts it into 4 quads of SDI. Not as …

  • Great to hear! Can be the difference of stable playback and the odd dropped frame on some shows.
  • Looking forward to getting one. The X4 has been great but the limitations of DVI started to become apparent.

  • I had huge issues with Flip4Mac on breaking Quicktime playback of other files. I'd recommend you install Flip4Mac only when you need it, then remove it. Thankfully wmv is a dying codec.
  • No these are the correct adaptors. You do generally need to replug the datapath when you set a new input resolution for OS-X to see it.
  • @ibox - you definitely picked up a Duallink Adaptor too? That would explain the maximum resolution only being 1080.
  • This feature, or lack of, keeps biting me.  At the moment we're working on an event where I need 6x 1080 outputs - which is made of 2x 5760px wide edge blended screens, we have access to Datapaths and TH2Go's. Unfortunately both give very different …
  • Although that said - when mapping with a projector more pixels is always better.
  • You'll end up with a 30Hz input resolution if you go for 4x 1080 windows inputs, Unless you've got an amazing computer. Although you can input 16384x4096 pixels into the X4 theres a point where even Dual Link DVI can't carry enough information. From…
  • This quirk has caught me out quite often and would be great to be included in the future.
  • That must have been it - have a had a couple of months away from Millumin so some of its quirks got me programming a show. Thanks - ignore this.
  • I did some test with our MacPro when we received it a few months ago. You should be fine getting 5x outputs but you will need at least 3 passive miniDisplayPort adaptors. I did have some quirks with each screen detecting like new monitors when I reb…
  • Keep in mind that if you're going to project on to anything but a flat surface you can only align the image to one depth - anything closer or further away will become distorted due the different focal positions of the projectors.
  • I'm pretty sure El Gato haven't released a single capture device that uses Quicktime Capture which is what most VJ apps use to capture. If price is an issue you should check out a videoglide namely the EasyCap DC60+ usb capture box. If you can thoug…
  • Hi PhilppeJust a note that when I tried to add the glitch.qtz onto a clip it caused Millumin to completely stall and beach ball. When I reopened and tried another effect (Blur) it worked fine - then I added glitch again and it crashed out completely…
  • You should be able to use a DVI TH2Go using an adaptor out of the HDMI port.
  • We've just got a new MacPro with 2x D700's - I can confirm that it works with our X4 fine, and I've also attempted to run 2x 4k out of the MacPro (one into the X4 the other to a ATEM 4k switcher) and that also works - although there is some frame ju…
  • Ahh cool. Thought it might be a bug. We regularly use a 1M/E switcher to mix VJs into Millumin which then does mapping or presets.  On closer look the Mini Recorder only goes up 1080p25 or 1080i50 no 1080P50. Only closer inspection it would seem onl…
  • One quirk though is that when using more than one output, say via a rMBP or MacPro/Hackintosh with a GTX680+ gpu) Millumin likes the multiple outs to be the same aspect ratio and ideally same resolution otherwise the they'll all get weird 'scale to …
  • The Triplehead2Go DP & DVI models do actually support 3x 1080 (5760x1080px) - although you will need a Duallink DVI adaptor if coming out a MacBook Pro into the DVI model. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/displayport/ The big…
  • Yeah I was surprised that it dropped so much. As one of the outputs is being sent to an OB truck and to live TV I can't drop below 25fps. It is good that OS-X multiple output support has improved and can allow me to get enough outputs from a single …
  • Awesome - completely missed it. Was looking via the website.
  • Got it working. Heres a handy video for those of us with a Hackintosh or people using multiple sound cards/outputs to make a multichannel system - http://www.tonymacx86.com/130-how-enable-5-1-channel-analogue-audio-os-x.html
  • Great, I'll start messing around and see how I go.Thanks
  • This is indeed the case. You need a Dual Link adaptor for any resolution over 2500px or so. If you lower the resolution going into the TH2Go to say 3x 800x600 or even 3x 640x480 you'll get a normal DVI cable to work ok.
  • I've just built a media playback machine and am testing it with Millumin. It had previously been an edit suite and run well so I've been confident about using it in live situations. It has 3 graphics cards installed (GTX580+8800GTx2) and I've got Mi…
